Bilingual Employee Relations Manager/Newly created role in Financial Services!

Salary will be based on experience with a 25% Bonus Plus RSP

Our client, a leader in financial services located downtown is adding an additional Bilingual Employee Relations Manager to their HR Solutions department. You will be providing first-level Human Resources support, education, and consultation, to employees and managers regarding general employee relations (ER) issues, HR policy interpretation and leave of absence (LOA) management across all Canadian offices.

You will respond to questions regarding employment, compensation, time away from work policies, employee issue resolution and performance management.


  • Provide education on various HR tools and resources, and prepare and deliver training on HR programs
  • Assess the nature of incoming issues, and respond or determine escalation route based upon level of complexity, urgency and/or severity
  • Diagnose and resolve policy interpretation issues including making recommendations to revise existing policies
  • Investigate complaints and develop an action plan to manage the investigation. This includes working with the HR Business partners,  interviewing employees, identifying root causes and making recommendations after reviewing the facts of the case
  • Coach managers and employees with difficult decisions and discussions. Topics may include termination of employment, employee issues,  LOAs and performance management

  • Completion of a University degree
  • 7 years progressive human resources experience including 2+ years in employee relations
  • Bilingualism in English and French is a MUST
  • Experience interacting with all levels of employees and management
  • Experience working in the financial services industry is an asset
  • Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation is an asset
  • Candidates with  Knowledge of Quebec employment relations legislation and best practices including the Employment Standards Act will be contacted first
