CONSTRUCTION PROJECT COORDINATOR

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT COORDINATOR required for leading low rise and commercial builder to report directly to the Project Manager.  You will assist and support the Project Manager(s) on one or more projects, and be responsible for all coordinating duties.

Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Maintain excellent relationships with architects, consultants, trades & public
  • Demonstrate a reasonable understanding with the terms of contract documents
  • Prepare Notice of Project for approval
  • Coordinate with estimating any consultant drawings issued after agreement on contract amount
  • Assist in preparing the baseline schedule and updating it throughout the project
  • Prepare submittal log for approval by the Project Manager
  • Record, track and distribute all construction drawings
  • Record, track and process shop drawings and samples
  • Prepare, track and process RFIs and SIs
  • Assist in processing project correspondence
  • Attend site to review progress, quality and safety
  • Assist in scheduling and expediting materials and subtrades
  • Initiate Change Bulletins and liaise with trades regarding quotations for Change Bulletins
  • Prepare quotations for PMs approval
  • Prepare contract revision for approval by the Project Manager
  • Assist in reconciling sub-trade/supplier’s accounts
  • Assist in preparing budget reports and monthly Project Cost Reports
  • Assist in preparing a cash-flow and update it as required
  • Assist in preparing progress billings
  • Prepare, coordinate and monitor all deficiencies to completion
  • Prepare close-out documentation, including O&M Manuals, warranties, coordinate warranty work and archive project records
  • Monitor and provide feedback on subtrade performance
  • Utilize Project Management software to complete all project administration

Knowledge and Skills, desired:

  • Education to include a technical college diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of construction experience or equivalent
  • Computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project
  • The proven ability to successfully coordinate construction projects
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), industry practices, estimating/budgeting, scheduling and safety requirements
  • The proven ability to effectively manage and inspire staff
  • Self starter with excellent attitude and initiative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
