Events Manager/ Not For Profit 

Our downtown client, a leader in professional regulation and awarded   the Top Toronto Employer title has created a new management role in their Events department. This unique opportunity requires an experienced   events professional who can collaborate with the Executive Chef, Catering Manager and Facilities Manager to really manage and oversee a variety of these events. With your project management ability and years of experience managing events that range from 20-100 people, you may really excel in a role like this!

 

Description
  • Manage all events/meeting requirements required for multiple conferences and other event plans. Create work-back schedules and detailed planning documents.
  • Manage budget and ensure cost models are on target.
  • Manage execution of the events with venue staff
  • Superior planning; project management and task co-ordination skills; knowledge of protocol and social custom; superior interpersonal skills – flexibility, tact, perseverance, demonstrated ability to provide a consistently high level of service.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects; should be able to work under pressure and stress, should possess maturity and poise to interact with senior management and board members;
  • Produce weekly sales report (registration and sponsorship), support all sales functions and collaborate with other members in the company to ensure all logistics and administration support is met for the sales and marketing teams.
  • Expected to research and recommend events that will raise the company profile
  • Assist internal and external clients by conceptualizing ideas for events they propose.

 

Requirements

• Successful completion of a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or any other field

• 5 years of event management preferably from a wedding venue or event company

•   Highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

• Strong attention to detail

• Superior interpersonal and relationship management skills

• Exceptional writing and communication skills
