Financial Analyst – Up to 85k   and a 10% Bonus

Newly Created Role due to growth!

We are currently looking for an experienced Financial Analyst for our client located in Etobicoke.  This role requires an individual who can perform complex accounting and financial analysis functions and expertise in complex accounting topics and a strong knowledge of accounting principles.  In this role you will be responsible for the collection, reporting and analysis of financial data as well as the overall responsibility for  financial statement preparation,  external audit and tax and responding to ad hoc requests. A large portion of this role requires performing non-routine tasks as necessary to meet the needs of the business.  Come work in a fun environment with a great team in a great cutting edge company!


Financial Statements and Reports: 

Coordinate with internal business teams in the preparation, implementation, and compliance of management reporting & analysis requirements.  Work closely with the business units to analyze monthly results and provide financial decision support to help drive the company' s operating performance.  Preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end internal and external financial reporting, MD&A  and note disclosures in compliance with US GAAP. 


Drive enhancements in financial reporting and analysis as well as system requirements.  Responsible for consolidation of all subsidiaries.

Tax & Audit: 

Involved with the quarterly and year end close process with the external auditors.  Supporting schedules and working paper preparation to meet audit requirements.  On a quarterly basis, record the tax provision.  Overall responsibility for compiling necessary information for the annual corporate tax returns for all entities. 

Month End:

Analysis and reporting of monthly operating results. Compare actuals to budgeted and forecasted results at the end of each period, and report on significant variances in the BS and P&L. Record journal entries and accruals in Great Plains. Perform various balance sheet account reconciliations.  Journalize bi-weekly payroll entries to the general ledger for each entity.   Prepare and distribute monthly salary and headcount reports to each entity.

Required Skills:

  • Deadline and timeline driven.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage information with a high level of detail and accuracy.
  • Quick learner and ability to take ownership of key tasks.
  • Ability to be a strong internal business partner with a collaborative business focus.

Required Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Finance & Accounting.
  • Experience with ERP systems, Great Plains and  MR experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Accounting designation
  • Post-secondary education; university degree or college diploma in accounting.

Years Of Experience:

5+ to 7 Years
