Senior Pension and Benefits Specialist/Newly created role!

Our client, ranked as a top Toronto employer is adding an additional subject matter expert to their team   in the area of Pension & Benefits. In this role you will be extremely hands on.  Liaising with employees and vendors, handling full cycle pension and benefits administration, assisting the manager with pension governance as well as additional duties mentioned below:
  • Responsible for pension and benefit enrollment and providing administrative support for the Pension Committees.
  • Maintains the integrity of the pension and benefit programs including oversight of the vendor systems and producing regular, custom and ad-hoc operational reports and statistics for use by organizational stakeholders.
  • Administers the pension and benefit programs including coordination and completion of benefit surveys, analysis and recommendations with respect to planning, and program implementation costing.
  • Oversees the pension and benefit enrollment process, including monthly enrollment meetings and biennial re-enrollment process, to ensure employees receive accurate information.
  • Manage all pension and benefit reconciliations

 

Salary Range 72-75k Plus Pension Plan Plus 3 weeks vacation

 

Qualifications:
  • A university degree, or equivalent, in Human Resources, or related field, coupled with a CEBS or CHRL designation.
  • The Specialist, Human Resources combines Human Resources consultative and administrative responsibilities, together with significant analysis and project management responsibilities, which requires a minimum 7 years’ progressive experience in pension and benefit related fields.
  • Expert skills in Excel spreadsheets, databases and data manipulation.
  • Advanced skills in other MS Office applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and various internet browsers.
  • Proficiency with various time and attendance systems, preferably Synerion Direct.
  • In depth knowledge of various Human Resources Information Systems, preferably Ceridian’ s HR/Payroll Latitude (HPL) and/or Dayforce.
